The Yorkshire Society, under the PatronageKeith Madeley of His Royal Highness The Duke of York, represents the very best that Yorkshire has to offer for those living, working, visiting or investing in the county, whilst also generating funds to directly 'plough back' into regional and local communities. Sir Ken Morrison

The Yorkshire Society sends thoughts and prayers to the family of the late Sir Ken Morrison, a truly “Yorkshire Great” and a beloved Son of Bradford and the County. He was an ardent supporter of our work and our Chairman felt privileged to be asked to say a few words about Sir Ken on BBC Look North last night
Telemedicine at Airedale Hospital

Members of the Yorkshire Society recently enjoyed a visit to the Telemedicine Hub at Airedale Hospital and were surprised by how effective an apparently simple idea can be.

Telemedicine is an innovative remote clinical care service delivered via video consultation from a Digital Care Hub. The service is staffed by highly skilled clinicians who take calls 24 hours a day with a consultant physician always on hand if a second opinion is needed. The service aims to keep patients who live in residential homes, prisons etc, all over the country, in their place of residence if it is safe to do so, thus cutting down on A/E and GP visits. The Hub also delivers the Goldline Service which helps terminally ill patients to receive medical advice and reassurance in their own homes.
